As a regular colum to this site, I will profile some of the better facilities around the world. What better to start off with than Speedworld Raceway and Hobbies. Speedworld is located in quiet Roseville, California, just 20 minutes from Downtown Sacamento, CA. The track is located on the Placer City Fairgrounds.
The track is open for practice and racing most weekend days. Race schedules vary from Gas Sedan, Electric On-Road Classes, and even Slash truck racing with jumps!
The track features a very flat/high bite asphalt. Layouts at Speedworld are typically wide open. The track is surrounded by metal railing for spectators as well as large grandstands.Track barriers are wood with painted bender board and corner dots.
Layouts at Speedworld typically feature a long 100 ft+ straightaway. Sometimes, you forget to turn is so long! The track is ideal for a range of race classes including mod electric sedan and gas sedan.
Speedworld features a covered pit area complete with tables, chairs, power, etc. Perfect for at least 100+ racers. Additional areas are available for overflow pitting.
Pictured above, Speedworld’s drivers stand and pit-in area. The stand is adequately spaced from the track. Pit lane is nice as well. Just enough room for your gas pit guy or girl.

Speedworld has a nice snack bar during races. You can find your share of the usual hot dogs, candy, and more.
The track is owned and operated by Billy and Tracy Bowerman. Here’s a picture of Billy.
Speedworld’s hobbyshop is small, but stocked with everything you would ever need. The shop is located on site.
Speedworld has been the home for numerious large races in its 10+ years of existance! Marny large on-road races such as the ROAR Nats, Reedy On-Road Race Of Champions, Norrca Nationals have all happened here.
This May 2009, Speedworld will once again host The Reedy Race of Champions for the 2nd year in a row.The best in the world have been to the track and put down some unbelievable lap times.
