This year, the format of the Reedy Touring Car Race Of Champions has been altered. Due to economic and swine flu concerns, many of the top teams have decided not to participate in this years race. This left the organizers in a unique position of reorganizing the Open Mod and Invite Mod into a World Cup qualifying.
The remaining 12 invite drivers ( that are scheduled to come) will be combined with the invitational drivers for 4 rounds of qualifying on Saturday. The best 21 drivers based on qual points will survive to the invitational class on Sunday. The remaining drivers will resort into the Open A, B, and C mains (potentially).
This marks a significant, but necessary change to this years format due to the situation at hand.
