Chico, California, February 17, 2010 – A Main Hobbies today announced two new ProTek R/C brand Lithium Polymer 2-cell hard case power battery packs for radio controlled cars, with 5600mAh of capacity and a true 50C constant discharge rate.
With two versions available, part number PTK-LPH-5600-2S50-P 4mm bullet connectors for charging and a 2mm bullet connector for balancing, and are ready for the wire, balance tap and discharge connector of your choice. Part number PTK-LPH-5600-2S50-W includes an integrated balance charge lead with a Deans style T-plug installed. The balance adapter included is a 3-pin Align/E-Flite style XH balance connector.
These battery packs are built using a hard plastic pack that is required for use at ROAR sanctioned tracks and events.The packs are thin enough to fit into all touring cars and off-road vehicles, and is easily secured in vehicles designed for side by side NiMH race packs.
These ProTek R/C battery packs can be used in any application where you need 6-cell NiMH stick or race packs, such as 1/10th scale electric touring cars or 2wd and 4wd off-road vehicles. These packs are significantly lighter when compared to regular NiMH race packs. This makes the overall vehicle weight lighter for significantly improved acceleration. These batteries also have a nominal voltage of 7.4V compared to the 7.2V of regular NiMH batteries, and have a lot lower internal resistance. This leads to better top speeds and improved ‘punch’ off the line when compared to NiMH batteries.

2C Maximum Charge Rate!
This battery pack is designed to be safely charged at 2C, twice the normal 1C charge rate required for most Li-Poly battery packs. With a 2C charge rate, you can get these battery packs fully charged in only slightly more than half the time it will take to complete a 1C charge.
