I recently got the opportunity to review the Speed Passion RS1 and RS2 kits. These two new kits are Speed Passion’s first entry into the ready to run R/C Car market. Both come nearly ready to go. You will need 8 transmitter AA batteries and a 7.2 volt battery. That’s it! How easy is that!
The RS1 is a Honda Civic Mugen RR 1/10 4wd Touring Car. The RS2 is a 1/10 Stadium Off-Road truck. Both are great entry level kits. Here are some of the features of the RS1 and RS2 kits!
The RS1 Civic comes in a nice attractive packaging as shown below.
Upon opening up the RS1, you will find a fully assembled kit, Carrera 2.4 ghz transmitter, instruction manual, and all the accessories you need to get going.
The Carrera 2.4 ghz transmitter comes complete with all of the functions you will need including trims, on-off switch, and more. It is very comfortable to hold as well.
The Carrera powers up with 8 AA batteries. These are easily accessible through the bottom compartment as pictured.
You will also find all of the battery adaptors you need for Tamiya plug and Speed Passion connectors. Also, a necessary bind plug for the receiver/transmitter 2.4 ghz bind.
The RS1 Honda Civic’s body is complete with all Honda details, grill, and more. It looks great!
Underneath the hood you will find a ready to go 4wd shaft driven touring car.
The Speed Passion Civic comes complete with 4 oil dampers and threaded tires to handle the road.
What Speed Passion car would be complete without a Speed Passion motor and speed control? The RS1 Civic comes complete with a 3000 KV brushless motor and Citrix Inspire 2.0 speed control. This combo is capable of speed up to 30MPH!
The car also features a easy to tune gear ratio chart. 
The RS1’s drive system is a efficient shaft. This is great for beginners and enthusiasts of all kinds.The transmissions are well sealed as well.
The Civic’s front end features a upper pivot control arm as pictured.
The RS2 is a rugged 1/10 2wd stadium off-road truck. It comes complete in packaging similar to the RS1 Honda Civic.
Inside you will find a beautifully painted truck with transmitter and all accessories. This is the same as the RS1.
The back of the RS2 comes complete with a wheelie bar. This can be used or removed. In addition, the bar can be lowered or raised to different wheelie positions. This will adjust the angle of wheelie. 
Under the body you will find a ready to run mobile. Just add batteries and you are set!
As with the RS1, the RS2 truck comes complete with Speed Passion motor, Speed control, Carrera 2.4 ghz receiver and transmitter.
The RS2 features sturdy rear driveshafts as pictured. 
The front end of the RS2 features fully adjustable oil dampening units.
The RS2 comes with ribbed front tires as well as spiked rears. This is great for dirt conditions. 
All in all I found these two kits to be great for beginners. Worried about spare parts? Never fear….Speed Passion has a full array of spares available for both vehicles here.
I would highly recommend this kit for anyone looking to enter into R/C Cars. Its a nice one!
